We had another early start today. We left Bandon at 10:40am!
The traffic was quieter like we had hoped! The first part of the ride was through a nice countryside setting. We couldn't see the ocean but we knew it wasn't far away. The road was a little up and down but not really difficult. We saw a couple of cyclists ahead of us that had bike trailers. They were heading south as well.
We didn't see the ocean until we arrived at Port Orford, which is apparently the oldest township in Oregon. What great winds here! And the ocean views started. We rode through the town and into Mount Humbug where the road was very narrow and windy! Luckily, not a lot of traffic here! After Mount Humbug, we rode along the coastline and the ocean and beach views were great!
We came across a surprise tourist attraction: a dinosaur park! We had to be careful, those reptiles are big!
We finally stopped at Nesika Beach where we camped for the night! A great campfire and also a warm laundry room too!
