The Coast Mountain Circle Tour is a journey that is full of many stunning natural landscapes from the Pacific coastline and mountain ranges along with pristine nature.


This scenic route follows different crested paths on the jagged coast of Home Sound where the rocks and cliffs seem to embrace the waters full of fjords, surrounded by various islands of different sizes with verdant, rigorous rainforests the beautiful canyons, glaciers, waterfalls and lakes. An extraordinary amount of wildlife dominates this route.


The route is famous and  takes you through for the history of the Gold rush that began in 1858 after gold was first discovered on the Thompson River in British Columbia. It is a place of wilderness and beauty, spectacular and immense landscapes and a lots of history and First Nations culture in the Fraser river basin!


Starting in Vancouver by crossing the Lions Gate bridge on a bike paths is shared between bicycles and pedestrians. A relaxing ride with breathtaking beauty! There is another way to reach the north shore, you can also take the Sea Bus that takes you from downtown Vancouver to Lonsdale Quay which in North Vancouver, and from here you can then reach West Vancouver.


The Sea-to-Sky highway is a varied route with many viewpoints; the coast, with so many islands, and the mountains, with slopes and great forests, what beauty! Along the way there are plenty of attractions along this route to see and many scenic spots to stop

Day 01: Vancouver a Whistler

Place for the night: Campsite/Whistler -  Riding Time: 9.03.06 - Distance: 128.6.2 Km

This beautiful cycling tour started in the West End and is a neighborhood in Vancouver. This neighborhood lies west of Downtown, and, on three sides, is bounded by water: English Bay, Coal Harbor, and Lost Lagoon in world-famous Stanley Park.

We left Vancouver on a day with somewhat uncertain weather conditions, sunshine, cloudy skies and rain.

Then, by crossing the Lions Gate bridge on a bike paths is shared between bicycles and pedestrians. A relaxing ride with breathtaking beauty! There is another way to reach the north shore, you can also take the Sea Bus that takes you from downtown Vancouver to Lonsdale Quay which in North Vancouver, and from here you can then reach West Vancouver.

Continuing the route is along the famous Sea-to-Sky Highway corridor (also known as Highway 99) between Vancouver to Whistler that offers  stunning  views of Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains; it is a winding highway and is one of the most scenic routes in the world.      Porteau Cove Provincial Park is located on the eastern shore of Howe Sound. There is a campground and two log cabins which are ocean view. It is a famous place for scuba diving, boats, kayaking and much more.

Murrin Provincial Park is located near Squamish offering a great place for swimming and hike trails to explore.

Shannon Falls is located near Squamish along the Sea to Sky Highway. The falls are 335 meters high. Theare are Lots of hiking opportunities such us  The Chief Peaks or even to The Gondola Summit.

The Sea To Ski Gondola is a 10-minute gondola ride that takes you 885 metres above Howe Sound.

Britannia Beach is situated at and above the Sea to Sky Highway, between Vancouver and Whistler, and is home to the BC Mining Museum. It was the largest copper producer in North America in 1929

Stawamus Chief Provincial Park is well known for hiking on one of the three peaks. Also famous for climbing the granite dome. We saw some people climbing the rock face. Check my hike

Alice Lake Provincial Park is a popular camping area north of Squamish. The lake is surrounded by panoramas of mountain views and dense forests. The area contains a magnificent network of hiking trails.

Brandywine Falls Provincial Park is located on Brandywine Creek. It is 70 meters (230ft) high.

Brackendale is a small community just nord of Squamish. It is largest concentration of bald eagles in North America.

Squamish is renowned for being Canada's Outdoor Recreation Capital. Squamish Adventures Center Lil’wat facility with cultural exhibits on the Squamish & Lil'wat Nation, plus events. Hike of  the Stawamus Chief

When we almost arrived in Whistler while pedalling in a street with little light (despite the light of my bicycle) suddenly and unpredictably a bear came out of the thick bushes to cross the road without my realizing that it was there it was so silent and invisible in the moment that I passed. Only my travel companion who was pedalling far from me had noticed and with its high tone of voice the bear immediately ran into the bushes and at that moment left a great noise of the bear fleeing!

Whistler is a cosmopolitan town resort located in the regional district of Squamish and Lillooet. It is the most important ski area and one of the largest ski resorts in North America and includes two areas: Whistler and Backcomb. Whistler Village is located at the base of Whistler and Backcomb a nice pedestrian only village.

Then, we stopped to do some shopping in the centre of the town which is pedestrian only and many shops. It was a very lively place! We found a nice campsite in the middle of nature with a nice pitch. There was also a fishnet bag for (bear bag). At night there were raccoons around and in the morning the footprints but no bears! Day 02: Whistler to Lillooet


Place for the night: Motel/Lillooet - Ride Time: 10 Hrs & 30 Minutes - Distance: 140.00 Km


When we woke up we organized our gear and rode around the Whistler village and we explored the surroundings.

Lost Lake is a small and peaceful lake within walking distance of Whistler Village and is surrounding of forest, good trails for hiking and great place for swimming and more.
