The Great Bear Rainforest is one of the oldest national parks in the country, located in the west and in the beautiful Tweedsmuir Provincial Park and close to the Bella Coola Valley. The park's purpose is safeguarding the natural habitat to preserve a natural paradise. A powerful example of raw nature, it is fascinating from its wild and uncontaminated landscapes and variety including ocean, waterfalls, lakes, rocky mountains and much more, making it a fascinating and mysterious jewel, creating a breathtaking naturalistic context that takes your breath away!

The Great Bear Rainforest is one of the world's largest evergreen, temperate rainforests. The park hosts thousands of types of flora and there are centuries-old trees such as the western sitka spruce (1500 years old). Certainly a treasure for our planet, it is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including wolves, Sitka deer, goats, seal lions, killer whales, marine mammals, humpback whales, cougars and salmon. There are three spices of bears: Black Bear, Spirit Bear / Karmode and Grizzly.

In this beautiful home of the Nuxalk Nation - First Nations persons have lived here for thousands of years around Bella Coola and in the heart of the Great Bear Rain Forest.

The incredible Bella Coola Valley is a small community, and is a natural place, rich in history and art, and is located in the central coast area of the Cariboo Chlicoth region.

Our trip to this wonderful journey begins by driving from Vancouver, Hope, Cashe Creek, Clinton, Williams Lake to Tweedsmuir  Park and Bella Coola, returning in the same route. the journey was 4 days and 3 nights long and about 20 hours driving by car each way, but it was worth it to stay in contact with nature, with very few villages, with a large area of unspoiled nature but a magical and mysterious atmosphere to wander a memory experience to remember with the utmost respect for the environment. I have no other words to describe!

Unfortunately, there were many particularly large and destructive fires in this period.

Driving Highway 20, also known as the Hill, runs between Anahim Lake and Bella Coola and is very demanding to drive.

Distance: From Vancouver to Bella Coola is approximately 1000 km.
