Milano #11 Naviglio Grande and Ticinese area Street Art Tour, Milano, Lombardy, Italy Added (05/2021)
The Naviglio Grande is a canal located southwest of Milan, connecting the Ticino river near Tornavento (province of Varese), which starts from Porta di Ticinese (corner od old Milan), also known as Darsena, the ancient pier in Milan.
The route of the Naviglio Grande starts from the Province of Varese and feeds into various municipalities in the upper Milanese area, including Turbigo, Abbiategrasso, Gaggiano, Trezzano, Corsico and Buccinasco to then reach Milan spill into the Darsena.
The courses of the Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese start from this ancient area. The citizens of Milan love to walk both during the day or in the evening among the artifacts and curiosities of the canals! Who would not like to see this adorbable corner of Milan!
The Naviglio Grande or Grand Canal is the oldest, full of history and most important the history of this human made river channel in the city, which is still navigable today. It can be reached by a leisure walk of about 30 minutes more or less 2 km from Piazza Duomo.
It is a vibrant area of Milan a nice place to walk along the bank of the canal and admire many aritists studio, with plenty of restaurants, old taverns and bars to choose along both sides where one can stop for a bite and drink. This gorgeous area resembles Venice is absoluteluy worth to visit is the most charming and vibrant district in Milan!
My tour is by walking through this beautiful district of Navigli and Ticinese to find Milano’s street art that is always in constant change with new works!
