The route is a link between the North Park and Monza Park, crossing the Grugnotorto-Villorese Park which connects three regional parks: Parco Nord Milano, Parco delle Groane and Parco della Valle del Lambro and through the municipalities of the north of Milan: Novate Milanese, Bresso, Cinisello Balsamo, and Monza.

The Grugnotorto Villoresi and Brianza Centrale parks are a network surrounded by agricultural land and cultivated areas of links and cycle paths of these municipalities that are united together: Bovisio Masciago, Cusano Milanino, Cinisello Balsamo, Desio, Lissone, Muggiò, Nova Milanese, Paderno Dugnano, Varedo and Seregno.

Monza is a city of art including the beautiful Duomo of Monza / Cathedral of Monza, with a 16th century bell tower that houses the frescoed Teodolinda Chapel. The neoclassical Villa Reale of Monza, a large estate with English gardens, is located on the edge of the vast Monza Park. This unique park in the middle of the city is one of the largest enclosed parks in Europe and was built at the behest of the Emperor Napoleon.

This jewel is naturalistic and includes the famous Monza racetrack, home to the Italian Grand Prix, which is held in the Monza Park. The Lambro river crosses Monza Park which is rich in nature, used for all types of physical activity and is also rich in history.

The end point of the ride is the Villorese canal and on to the city of Monza which is located between Brianza and Milan in the province of Lombardy.

What I saw on my cycle ride:

The route crosses cycle paths, parks in green spaces, wooded areas, agricultural land, the Villoresi Canal cycle path that crosses the Lombardy countryside, skirting the entire stretch of the Villorese Canal, a historic waterway created for the irrigation of the fields at end of the nineteenth century by the engineer Eugenio Villorese.

- Monza - The Capella Espiratoria, The Royal Villa (main symbol of the city), the rose garden adjacent to the Villa, Monza Park (large enclosed park in Monza, Lombardy), and the famous Monza racetrack - F1 Monza race track (a historic circuit of 5.8 km).

- Then Villa Arconati, also known as Castellazzo Degli Arconati, is a rural palace with gardens, located in the municipality of Castellazzo in the municipality of Bollate and Antico Borgo di Castellazzo can be seen on arrival. The village is made up of courtyards and agricultural complexes that are still used today. It was formed even before Villa Arconati was built, when the area hosted a fortified farmstead known as "Il castellazzo'.

itinerary:

My bike journey begins in Novate Milanese crossing Bresso, the Cinisello Balsamo cycle path, joins the cycle path of the Grugnotorto Villorese and Brianza Centrale Park, the Canal Villoresi cycle path to reach Monza. The return loop of the tour was Grubia Park, Groane Park, Castellazzo and finally in Novate Milanese.

Cycle Ride on the Via Villoresi cycle path from Milan to Monza Loop Lombardy Italy   #1                     Added (11/2021)

The route continues to and then passes over a bridge and under the motorway (A12) and reach the GruBria 'Park via a dirt road.

Next is  Muggio - Grubrìa Park for which the name derives from the union of two pre-existing parks: the Grugnotorto Villoresi Park and the Central Brianza Park. The trails continue through farmland, surrounded by greenery with autumn colored leafy trees.

Then, the cycle path "district 5 is north-west of the municipal area, includes the park area north of the historic center". A beautiful cycle path that winds along the Villoresi - canal towards Monza.

The Capella Espiatoria is a commemorative monument dedicated to King Umberte I, killed by the anarchist Gaetano Bresci on 29 July 1900 while, at the end of sporting event, he returned in Villa Reale.

Finally, you reach a long artery that leads from the prestigious Cesare Battisti avenue; tree-lined avenue, splendid stately villas that leads directly to the entrance to the Royal Villa
