Pacific Coast Bike Route: Day 08

We started off from Gearhart after a nice evening of camping and socializing in the laundry room with a nice body building soccer coach from Mexico. He was complaining that his body was not like it used to be so he showed us all his competition photos on his facebook account.  And he emphasized that it took him 3 months to get into competition shape!  He was very ripped but he said his friend was much better.  Hard to believe that his muscle tone changed so much.  He showed us his training diet, total protein 5 times a day!!!

The bike ride started through Seaside, a resort town similar to Kelowna, BC, Canada, with lots of surf shops along the highway.  Then we started towards Cannon Beach and the views from the highway were breathtaking:-)!  Wow, we're so happy to be riding by bicycle on this route and to feel the ocean beside us!

We had lots of steady, long uphill climbs with a great downhill reward, yeah!!!!  Patrizia doesn't have brakes for the downhills, no one is passing her!  Hahaha Patrizia:-)!

There were so many little seaside communities along the way, each with its own character.  There were so many nice sights along the way, lots of reasons to stop and take pictures.  We had a quick roadside lunch at a great viewpoint of the sandy beach coastline and then, we kept on our bikes for the rest of the way.

So we arrived at Netarts ands and decided to stay at a Terimore Lodging by the Sea and where we met the visiting sister of the motel owner.  She was from Austria, a great person to talk to:-)!  Patrizia really loved talking with her!  Terimore Lodging by the Sea is nestled at the mouth of the beautiful Netarts Bay, is a minute's walk from the closest beach and offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

We ventured onto the beach and wow, lovely views and sounds!  Then came back for a local oyster appetizer!  Buon appetito!
