Nova Scotia is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is one of the three Maritime Provinces, along with Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.

Halifax is the capital with a vibrant atmosphere and a true centre of maritime transport and is a big city is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and with beautiful landscapes and so many things to do and visit.

It is in the capital, in fact, that the famous "Pier 21" rises, from 1 July 1999 Canadian National Museum of Emigration which, from 1928 to 1971, welcomed many immigrants

The most National Parks in Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is home to three national parks:

* Cape Breton Highlands National Park

* Kejimkujik National Park & National and the Historic Site

* Sable Island National Park Reserve

Cabot Trail is located in the northernmost tip of Nova Scotia at Cape Breton Island National Park. It is a circular route that starts and ends at Baddeck. The route is approximately 300 kilometres through wonderful wild landscapes along the sea between Arcadian and Celtic villages.

Meat Cove is the most northern hidden gem settlement in Nova Scotia and is the northernmost point of Cape Breton island and to reach it you have to go along extreme winding roads to get there. Stretches of paved road and 7 kilometres of dirt road, climbs and descents with exceptional coastal views are extremely beautiful and rugged; this area is a very isolated corner and feels as if you have reached the end of the world. It is a very quiet place, there are only a few tourists here and there.

Despite being about an hour's drive from Cape Trail it is an excellent opportunity to detour while driving but it's worth it! When you get to the end of the road it is utterly breathtaking!

My experience bicycle touring in Nova Scotia?

The beautiful area is a peninsula full of endless rugged coastline, picturesque pastel coloured fishing villages, seaside resorts steeped in history. There are many lighthouses, long sandy beaches bathed by crystal clear waters and pristine woods and rivers and many lakes and there are many unspoiled and wild places with very little population where nature has absolute domination, rich in fauna and flora.

What experiences have I had?

Nova Scotia has different old Scottish, English and French traditions, but despite the diversity between the different traditions it has a single culture of people with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere and availability.

Which emotion has most affected you?

There are many unspoiled places with wild sceneries, where nature has absolute domination. I was fascinated with the quantity of lakes!

What else fascinated me?

I found it fascinating that in the same day you can witness very different weather phenomena: sun, fog, clear skies, blankets and rainfall all in a few hours.
