Cycle Tour I Circumnavigation the Iberian Peninsula I Spain and Portugal

Milan is the capital city of the region of Lombardy in northern Italy and Ventimiglia is the last Italian municipality in the far west of Liguria. It is situated at the mouth of the Roia River near the French border.

DESCRIPTION

I took one of the fastest trains from Milan to Ventimiglia taking about 3 hours and 41 minutes, covering a distance of about 225 kilometers.

The journey with the two wheels started by taking the train from Milan Central Station to Ventimiglia, a charming little town on the coast of the Italian Riviera and is located right on the coastal border between France and Italy.

After getting off the train I set up my bags on the racks of my bike and after a few kilometers of cycling from the train station I was at the Roma campsite. A convenient location and allowed me to reach the French Riviera the next day.

Then I walked up the hill, a nice climb to Ventimiglia alta, which is the oldest part of the city to discover the medieval village that dominates from above. A very nice village to walk through the labyrinthine streets, narrow alleys and ancient buildings and from the top dominated the beautiful views of the coast in one direction and the mountains in the other. It was simply spectacular to visit and well worth it!
