Tour #07 I Branca Museum & Distillery Tour In Milan, Lombardy Italy
The Branca Collection Museum is located in Milan. It offers a piece of history and is a fascinating insight into the tradition of the Milanese industrial distillery. Fernet-Branca is an Italian amaro, a formula of 27 herbs and spices from four continents, produced since 1845 by the Branca family of Milan. The company owns two distilleries: the main one in Milan, Italy, and this one in Buenos Aires.
How many times have I passed by the Fernet Branca headquarters but I never imagined that it could be visited and I discovered through my sister-in-law's client that it was possible to visit the historical Branca Museum "digestive/aperitif/medicinal" who had booked the visit for me free guided tour. Marco, the guide who accompanied us on the visit, was very good at illustrating the history of the Branca family and the entire journey through the factory. I found her to be really nice, welcoming and very kind, who showed the museum professionally and competently and was ready to answer any questions and curiosities.
Inside the museum factory it is very interesting for its history and very interesting for the quantity of materials on display, bottling machinery, tools used in the past and there are so many barrels but one of them that dates back to 1892 and also you can admire the Fiat Barilla - Fernet Branca from 1845.
The display of the large wheel of herbs, spices, flowers and roots that make up the liqueurs produced by the company was incredible and the first thing that struck me was the light but intense aroma of Fernet Branca!
In the Parco Sempione which is located in the center of Milan there is the panoramic Torre Branca in iron is 108.6 m high, the work of Gio Ponti was an architect, a designer and an artist. The tower can be visited and from the top you can admire the surrounding panoramic view.
It was an interesting visit to the Branca museum - a great exhibit covering the history of their advertising and development.
