Grouse Grind hike at Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver I British Columbia I Canada                        Added (02/2023)

The Grouse Grind Trail (also called Mother Nature's Stair-master) is within the North Shore Mountains of the Pacific Coast Mountain Range in the District Municipality of North Vancouver. It is  quite a challenging hike; it is short and steep hiking trail up Grouse Mountain. It starts at 300 metres elevation and climbs to 1,100 metres over a distance of approximately 2.5 Kilometres.

It is Vancouver's most used trail and is renowned for its challenge in requiring physical strength and stamina in order to make it the top. The trail is used by many for exercise so can be crowed but I started late in the afternoon and the trial was almost all mine! A great workout and solid cardio (uphill the whole way and relatively steep)!

The fastest known completion time is just under 24 minutes and the average person abour 1.5 to 2.5 hours  to reach the top.

After getting to the top, I wandered around by exploring the attractions at Grouse Mountain. There is a refuge for endangered wildlife that is included in your Mountain Admission - where you will see two Grizzly Bears, Grinder and Coola. The views from the top are a great sight and beautiful!

There are a few other entertainment items available all year around including:

Lumberjack Show, a performance logger show and competition.

  Theatre in the Sky

Mountain Zip-lining

  Sebastian Salas

You cannot hike down the Grouse Grind and the skyride down is available for $20. The Skyride is surrounded by nature and is uncontaminated and wild with spectacular views where you can enjoy breathtaking views!
