Abby Grind or Abbotsford Grind Hiking Trail in Abbotsford I British Columbia I Canada

The Abby Grind or the Abbotsford Grind Hike in Abbotsford is  part of the route to Taggart Peak, also known as the Glen Ryder Trail. It is a favorite "cardio training" hiking route and is a decidedly less steep and less long alternative to The Grouse Grind. Aside from fitness, the route starts uphill and continues to rise rapidly in an uphill zigzag route with rapid switchbacks all the way over short 330m over a distance of 4km. The hike is absolutely a great cardio workout!

This trail is steep a very popular area for hiking, snowshoeing, and running and  has a beautiful woodland setting. The first sign is and about 1/2 way where there is the first viewpoint the second to reach the top. Both get great views of the Fraser Valley, nearby farmland, and mountains.

I love this hike even though it is absolutely a great short but good cardio workout and beautiful scenery!
