# 01 Highlights in Vancouver and Richmond, British Columbia, Canada 82 Km                       Added (11/2020)

A nice bike ride starting from Richmond Via No.2 Road Bridge then across Arthur Laing bridge to Vancouver and along Cypress Street Bike Route. This is a zig zag route with ups and downs through prestigious areas and nice neighbourhoods.

This route runs parallel to the famous Arbutus Green Path which was a former railroad corridor (9 Km) which was transformed into a cycle and pedestrian path that runs from the Fraser River to False Creek. This is a more direct and flatter route to go to Vancouver.

After following Cypress cycle path, with a detour I arrived at Point Gray Road and its stately homes on the waterfront of Point Grey Road and right there there is a scenic cycle path for cyclists and pedestrians.

I then headed west via the "Seaside Trail - Point Grey" which includes the famous beaches that offer a beach side view for cyclists and walkers; Kitsilano Beach, Jericho Beach Spanish Banks and Locarno Beach. These beaches are generally less crowded than other Vancouver beaches.

Then I continued up the hill to Pacific Spirit Park or the University of British Columbia passing the famous Foreshore Trail  that runs all over the peninsula on the coast with mountain and ocean views, and then continuing to reach the SW Marine Drive, which is a the corridor to return to Arthur Laing Bridge. After crossing the north arm of the Fraser River you can cycle around the McArthur-Glen Designer Outlet, which is is located on YVR's Sea Island, a short walk from the Canada Line and Templeton Station. From here you can ride to Iona Beach which is a fantastic ride, having views of the mountains, the ocean, and forests.

Returning back to Sea Island Way and south towards the No. 2 Road Bridge, Larry Berg Flight Path Park is directly in line with the end of the south runway at YVR airport which is worth a quick stop. Then after  crossing the No 2. Road Bridge to Steveston Village " Fisherman's Wharf" is along the pier next to Steveston Landing and finally back to the stating place Terra Nova on the "Middle Arm” of the Fraser River.

A very nice ride with variety terrain a mix combinations of roads (cycle paths, cycle lanes and road sections with a few bike lanes).

⦿ Start and Finish -  Richmond, Terra Nova "Middle Arm" is located along the north shore of Richmond between the No. 2 Road Bridge, Vancouverr and Terra Nova Rural Park.
