Valtellina and Lake Como, Lombardy Italy Added (10/2021)
The Valtellina is a beautiful mount valley set in the north of Lombardy, on the border with Switzerland, between the northern end of Lake Como. It is about 2 hours from Milan. The Valtelilina's mountain landscape is full of natural beauty, pretty villages and a great variety of sports to enjoyed in all seasons!
The Valtellina valley is bordered by the Bernina Alps, part of the Rhaetian Alps, the Ortles Mountains in the northeast and the Orobie Alps to the south.
The valley is crossed by the river Adda, with its source in The Rhaetlna Alps. The Adda river is rich in natural beauty and has inspired Allessandro Manzoni and Leonardo da Vinci in their works of art. It is a stunning territory!
Lake Como has its charm, surrounded by mountains that you can admire, especially from the tops of the mountains. The extended branches of Lake Como approach the shores with historic houses and villas, along with plenty of campsites and paths with fresh air where nature still shows itself. This beautiful lake is an icon of past times, a corner of the flowing world with memories that leave enchanting emotions in my heart. When I am away from Lake Como, I find myself with so many precious memories with and intense desire that pushes me to come back ... You are my lake! :) - Patrizia -
