Castel Grumello is a 13th century castle located in the Municipality of Montagna in Valtellina in the province of Sondrio

The castle stands at the top of a rocky knoll and is surrounded by the famous hectares of vineyards where the Grumello wine and trails are produced. From that point it dominates the splendid overhanging panorama of the Valtellina and the city of Sondrio.

Castello de Piro al Grumello, more commonly known as Castel Grumello (Grumello Castle), is a “twin” castle, made up of two twin castles joined together, one military and the other residential.

In the interior of the Castle you can admire the remains of the buildings inside the walls and there are tables for those who want to sit and have a picnic as we did thanks to Elena who surprised us when she opened her backpack, thank you very much!
