The Ponte nel Cielo is located in Campo Tartano, Valtellina, Lombardy Italy Sondrio.

The Ponte nel Cielo "Bridge in the Sky", is 140 meters high and 234 meters long, and is the longest Tibetan-style pedestrian bridge in Europe. It is an exciting one-day experience in Val Tartano, crossing a steel bridge suspended between the two sides of Valtellina (Campo Tartano with Maggengo Frasnino), from which you can see a panoramic view up to Colico and Lake Como.

Campo Tartano, a small mountain town, is located about 1000 meters above sea level.

The starting (or arrival) points are: Campo Tartano, Frasnino, intermediate stage towards the highest mountain pastures.

There are many hiking trails but we had decided to take a loop following the sign for the Colombera dam which is almost under the bridge.

The path runs along the valley and then descends towards the dam. Once at the dam there is a steep climb that brings the end of the loop to the starting point.

The trails have the smells and scents of nature. A beautiful hike!
