Chiavenna is a medieval village in the center of the Alps located north of Lake Como in the province of Sondrio, in the northern part of Lombardy and is close to the border with Switzerland.

This pretty hidden gem nestled in the valley is full of mountain views and precious medieval architectural features, offering the visitor interesting glimpses along the Mera River and the main street Via Dolzino.

The historic center of Chiavenna has a rich history of Roman quarries, medieval trade routes that date back to the 16th century and have been maintained over time.
