Left Sirmione 10:00 AM....

The terrain becomes more hilly and more alpine heading out of Sirmione and through Desenzano. There is a reasonably safe 1.5 km tunnel. Then we followed signs for Lonato to Rezzato to Brescia. Brescia has several roman ruins and is worth seeing them.

After Brescia, we continued west for Ospaletto, Coccaglio - Palazzolo Sull'Oglio, wich is very beautiful town with a river running through and dividing the town.

In this routing there are some small hills and not too much traffic.

Then we took small roads to Telgate, Bolgare, Bagnatica, Seviate and finally Bergamo. Bergamo is a a gorgeous city with hill top castles and villas.

We had an adventure by following the sign to Citta' Alta (“High Town") where there is an old walled city  a charming place to discover. The top is definitely worth to see if you don't mind the hill climb at the end of the day!

There are several small hotels in the area and the Citta' Alta is simple unique. The view evening/ nite from the walls is incredibile! it Is a picturesque old town enriched with culture and history. There is also a funicular connecting from the Lower Town to the Upper Town, that was built in 1887 for the city of Bergamo.
