Cycle Tour #3: Day 06

We started the day at 9:00 AM from campsite on Maddalena island, then we picked up the return ferry (only 15 minutes of travel) to Palau and then followed highway 124 for Arzachena. There are several hills. Then head to Abbiado, and to the right and downhill for the famous Costa Esmeralda. It is a nice spot  with many luxury yachts and several beautiful bays, beaches and turquoise water and relaxing and very beautiful landscapes.

Then we headed inland to Olbia.

Olbia is not the most attractive port city, but it will have good ferry connections back to the Italian mainland near Rome.

After Olbia there is a little hill climbing and spectacular scenery toward Porto S. Paolo and Monte Petrosu. There are several camping areas along this stretch. We continued slightly inland and back to the coast again at Budoni.

- There are some Campgrounds at Budoni.

- Narrow streets. Hilly but not mountainous.
